Made in Austria.

The Maia is the tool that starts everything. A hand-forged pure copper dibber with a turned and oiled ash wood handle — designed for making precise planting holes for seeds, bulbs, and seedlings. At 30cm and 230g it sits perfectly in the hand, and the copper tip introduces trace elements directly into the planting hole before a single root goes in. Soil doesn't stick to it. It hangs neatly from a hook when not in use. Simple, considered, and built to last a lifetime — the Maia is what a dibber should always have been.

Since 1995, PKS has been handcrafting garden tools from copper and bronze alloy in the alpine town of Bad Ischl, Austria — a region with a centuries-old tradition of fine metalwork. Each tool is forged by hand using traditional techniques, producing implements that are not only extraordinarily durable but genuinely beautiful objects in their own right. Copper's natural properties — rust-resistant, low-friction, beneficial to soil health — make PKS tools a serious choice for the discerning gardener. Made entirely in Austria, built to last a lifetime.
