Made in Austria.
Winner of the Sanoma Garden Awards 2013 in Amsterdam — the Nunki is PKS's MUST-HAVE item. A compact copper alloy weeding snare with a beech wood handle, it works by cutting weed roots cleanly below the soil surface without mounding or disturbing the ground around them. Pull it through soil in either direction — the double-sided blade cuts on both passes, loosening as it weeds. At just 120g and 26cm it disappears into your hand. No rust, no maintenance, resharpenable when needed, and built to last decades. One customer sent PKS a photograph of her Nunki after twelve years of daily use — it looked almost new. That is the point.
Since 1995, PKS has been handcrafting garden tools from copper and bronze alloy in the alpine town of Bad Ischl, Austria — a region with a centuries-old tradition of fine metalwork. Each tool is forged by hand using traditional techniques, producing implements that are not only extraordinarily durable but genuinely beautiful objects in their own right. Copper's natural properties — rust-resistant, low-friction, beneficial to soil health — make PKS tools a serious choice for the discerning gardener. Made entirely in Austria, built to last a lifetime.
